For a couple more months, I am the mom of 2 little ones under 2. My children keep me busy all day long! Plus, I am married to wonderfully devoted teacher who is just as busy as I am. Being a school teacher isn’t for the faint of heart. He brings home lots of papers to grade, has evening games to coach, works on the weekends, and yes, brings home germs from his students on occasion.
I work hard at staying healthy by eating right, exercising and taking my vitamins. Since I’m not a fan of swallowing pills, Emergen-C is an easy and delicious way to take vitamins that are important to my healthy lifestyle.
Did you know Emergen-C has 1,000 mg of Vitamin C plus other antioxidants and vitamins, like Zinc and Manganese? With over 20 varieties, there are plenty of delicious varieties from which to choose. I’ve tried quite a few now but Super Orange is still my favorite! With winter around the corner, now is a good time to have some Emergen-C on hand for when you need it.*

I decided to incorporate Emergen-C into delicious breakfast smoothie that I can feel good about drinking as I start my day. The nice thing about adding Emergen-C Super Orange into this smoothie is that you get the delicious orange flavor without any of the pulp.
All of these ingredients can be customized but this combination does taste amazing. Since it is fall, I used cranberry juice but you can use any combination of cranberry juice like cran-apple or cran-grape. I used vanilla yogurt but you could substitute another flavor and it doesn’t matter if it’s regular yogurt or Greek yogurt. You can change up the fruit as you choose. I’m not a fan of bananas so I stuck to fresh apple slices and fresh raspberries.
Now, here’s my trick about making smoothies. Did you know you can use Ball canning jars on your blender? It’s amazing how well this works!
Simply put all your smoothie ingredients into a glass Ball canning jar. Then unscrew the blade attachment from your blender and screw it onto the canning jar – just like a lid. It should fit perfectly. I like to use pint jars for plenty of space.
See how the Emergen-C fizzes? I love that! Once the lid is attached, flip your jar over and put it on your blender. Turn your blender on and use as normal.
It’s amazing because it means I only have one dish to mix in, drink from and then stick straight in the dishwasher. I love using my canning jars to blend drinks in! Give it a try. I think you’ll be amazed at how well this works.
Now, onto to the quick and healthy 5 ingredient smoothie recipe that I promised. This recipe makes an 8 ounce breakfast smoothie, which is the perfect size for one.
1/2 cup cranberry juice
1/4 cup vanilla yogurt (regular or Greek)
1/4 cup raspberries
4-5 apple slices
1 packet Emergen-C Super Orange
Spoon vanilla yogurt in blender. Pour in cranberry juice. Add fresh fruit. Pour in packet of Emergen-C. Blend until smooth. Pour into glass and enjoy.
