One Year

A lot can happen in one year – especially in one year of marriage. Today is my first wedding anniversary. Yes, already, I know! A year ago, I joyfully married my husband, Andy. We both waited awhile to find one another, but it was worth every moment of waiting. You see, Andy and I are both blessed with wonderful marriage examples in our parents, grandparents as well as many of our aunts and uncles. We knew marriage was worth waiting for, so wait we did.

One year ago, we were gathered with many dear family and friends, who came from many states to celebrate with us. One year ago, we sang “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” and praised God with every word. One year ago, I promised, as Ruth promised, “Where you go I will go and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” One year ago, the two of us became one.

Little did Andy and I know all that God held in store for us this first year – and we still don’t know what the years ahead hold. We are content that we will discover that day by day, hand in hand, side by side. It is our prayer that God grants us many years together to grow more and more in love. Thank you for allowing me to share with you this personal glimpse into my life and thank you for sharing in our joy!
