This Fall has seemed to grow busier as the weeks continue on…and now it’s almost November! I know that November and Christmas are wonderfully busy in our household so I’m gearing up for the holidays, celebrations and yes, busy days.
In preparation, I’ve been trying to be intentional with my reading time again. Reading does relax me so I curled up with a good book this week during nap time and read away!

I sat down with From This Day Forward by Lauraine Snelling. It is the fourth and final book in the Song of Blessing series. I have read the others in the series but it took me awhile to catch up with the characters again. Once I did, I enjoyed this conclusion to the series.
From This Day Forward tells the story of Deborah MacCallister, head nurse at Blessing Hospital. She is single but does not want to be and longs for her childhood friend, Toby Valders, to notice her as a wife prospect. Toby enjoys being with Deborah but is not sure he can commit to marriage with Deborah.
Meanwhile, the town of Blessing is building a new building for the deaf school, preparing for harvest and expanding the hospital staff. The story provides a glance into past life among immigrants who have come to America. I love seeing how the entire Bjorklund family has adjusted to life in America.
If you like reading historical fiction, particularly stories of immigrants, check out From This Day Forward and the entire Song of Blessings series.
I received a free copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers. All opinions expressed are my own.
