I must admit that I feel a bit off my shopping game. I’ve been a bit forgetful as these past weeks have been a bit busy. My shopping reflects that as I (and my husband) have made some quick trips to the store for odds and ends. Those little trips add up!
Here’s the totals without the pictures. I spent $0.89 at Save-a-Lot on vinegar, $7.91 at Kroger and $13.48 at Scott’s (Kroger). Now, for the pictures.
I stopped at Meijer after school last Friday and picked up a couple things I needed. I forget sometimes how expensive contact solution can be! On this trip, I spent $24.15 (and saved $7.08).
On Monday, I made my regular trip to Meijer and got a lot more for a lot less. I spent $15.50 for everything shown above (and saved $11.49). The Stouffers meal was free, thanks to a recent coupon from BzzAgent. The natural tomatoes were on sale for $1 so I bought 3 cans. The bottled water was on sale, too. I’m trying to drink more water and these bottles allow me to do so on the go.
The total for all these trips (pictured and not) was $61.93. When I add that to the rest of my shopping trips for the month, I spent $139.73 in January. Even with my forgetfulness, I am $20.27 under budget for the month. My plan this year is to see how close I am every month to our budget to determine if it is truly accurate. Normally, I plan to put any excess money aside. This time, though, I’ve decided to add that excess into my February shopping budget as I focus on restocking our cupboards.
