It’s hard to believe that October is just a few weeks away! Why is that you ask? Well, for the third year in a row, I’ve decided to join the Nester in her challenge to write for 31 days about one topic in October.
Two years ago, I wrote 31 Days to Joyfully Thrive. From practical ideas to simple reminders, I covered a lot in this series. It was nice to expand upon the ideas that inspired me to begin this website.
Last year, I wrote 31 Days of Chocolate. Who doesn’t love chocolate? I certainly do and decided to share some of my favorite chocolate recipes with you. Along the way, I discovered some new favorites like my Fake It Frugal Thin Mints. Yum, yum, yum!
This year, I decided to embark on a new series with 31 Days of Freezer Cooking. The reason for this series is simple. I love to cook but in the past months, I have found myself not menu planning the way I would like to do. Combine that with busy teaching days and I want to do better. This is my motivation for this upcoming series.
Now, some background information. I have an upright freezer. I cook for my husband and myself – two busy teachers. My plan is to double a lot of my recipes for this series. That way, I can cook dinner for the night as well as for a future night. I am planning to cook some of my regular recipes as well as try some new recipes. I am planning to cook a variety of main dishes, breads and even desserts to stock my freezer. And my plan is to share doable recipes and practical freezer strategies for all of you!
I am looking forward to 31 Days of Freezer Cooking. I have a list of recipes that I am contemplating – but I am certainly open to your suggestions. Do you have any great freezer recipes that I should include in my series? You are welcome to cook along with me – planning your menus from what I share. Now, I hope you you are as excited as I am for October to begin!
