Published August 02, 2020 Updated August 02, 2020 Leave a Comment

When I have company over, I like to have a nice dessert prepared. It's even nicer when I have that dessert waiting in the freezer before the company is even invited over! That's where this easy frozen creamsicle pie recipe comes in.  I discovered this frozen pie recipe in my Taste of Home (1999) cookbook years ago. It requires only a couple of ingredients and you know how I love easy 5 ingredient recipes! (For proof, take a look at these 85 easy 5 ingredient dessert recipes!) This frozen pie recipe also results in a dessert that reminded me of that childhood treat of push-ups. Do you … Read More...

Super Soft M&M Cookies

Published April 27, 2020 Updated April 30, 2020 1 Comment

My husband and I have an ongoing cookie debate. He prefers his cookies flat and crisp. I prefer mine puffy and soft. I make flat chocolate chip cookies that he likes but the other day, I decided to make a batch of soft M&M cookies...just because. This is actually a flexible cookie recipe. You could use this same cookie dough recipe and toss in different toppings. Instead of M&Ms, you could use chocolate chips or peanut butter chips or Reese peanut butter cups or any mix-in you like! If you have leftover holiday M&Ms, this recipe will help you put your chocolate to good use! … Read More...

Cranberry Date Bars

Published November 25, 2019 1 Comment

There is one bar recipe that I only make around Christmas time. Every time I make it, I wonder why I don't make it more often! It's these uniquely delicious cranberry bars - cranberry date bars to be more exact. I make sure to buy extra cranberries before Thanksgiving just so I can make these cranberry bars. This is a recipe my Mom made every Christmas after she received it from a friend at our church in Michigan. I've never had a dessert bar like this anywhere else! These cranberry bars have a delicious crumb topping (that also serves as the base) and has a tangy but sweet fruit mixture … Read More...

How to Freeze Cookies for Lunches

Published August 12, 2019 Updated August 17, 2019 2 Comments

I have a wonderful Mom. She did a lot of great things for the four of her children as we were growing up - and still does today! One of the best back to school time memories I have is of Mom baking cookies for our school lunches. When we were a couple weeks away from the start of school, Mom always asked us what our favorite cookie recipes were. Over the next couple days, she'd bake a double batch of those cookies and package them up for the freezer. When school mornings rolled around, as she packed our lunches, we could pick whatever homemade cookies we wanted for our lunch. We'd pull them … Read More...

This chocolate chip coffee cake is an easy breakfast recipe - perfect for chocolate lovers! #chocolate

As I've said before, there is no bad time for chocolate. I will eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner - or any time in between. Chocolate makes everything better. And when you can start your day with a chocolate chip coffee cake - why not? I like coffee cakes for breakfast, especially when I am hosting company because it is an easy breakfast option. You can easily make a coffee cake the night before and serve it for breakfast the next morning. It's a toss up if I like blueberry buckle or this chocolate chip coffee cake more. They are both tasty - probably because they both have a … Read More...

Easy Snow Ice Cream Recipe

Published January 14, 2019 Leave a Comment

This snow ice cream recipe is so easy and absolutely delicious! Only 3 ingredients. Perfect for snow day fun! #snowday

We got our first big snow of the year this weekend. Finally! For living in Northern Indiana, we have not had very snowy winters for the past several years. I love snow. I don't love driving on snow, but if I can stay home and enjoy the beauty of it all with my kids? That is when I absolutely love snow. Yesterday, Andy took Nathan and Emma sledding after church at a nearby park. They had so much fun and came home with rosy, chapped cheeks. We all went out with Lily in the backyard to see her experience snow for the first time. She wasn't quite as impressed with the snow after she tried … Read More...
