Easy Snow Ice Cream Recipe

By Kristen Leave a Comment

This snow ice cream recipe is so easy and absolutely delicious! Only 3 ingredients. Perfect for snow day fun! #snowday

We got our first big snow of the year this weekend. Finally! For living in Northern Indiana, we have not had very snowy winters for the past several years. I love snow. I don't love driving on snow, but if I can stay home and enjoy the beauty of it all with my kids? That is when I absolutely love snow. Yesterday, Andy took Nathan and Emma sledding after church at a nearby park. They had so much fun and came home with rosy, chapped cheeks. We all went out with Lily in the backyard to see her experience snow for the first time. She wasn't quite as impressed with the snow after she tried … Read More...

Easy Wassail Recipe

By Kristen Leave a Comment

Easy Wassail Recipe - I love homemade wassail! And this recipe is so simple and absolutely delicious. A great winter drink!

Do you know this old English carol? "Here we come a-wassailing among the leaves so green. Here we come a-wandering so fair to be seen. Love and joy come to you. And to you your wassail, too. May God bless you and send you a Happy New Year. And God send you a Happy New Year!" Some may sing it as caroling but I still like the old version that includes wassail. Perhaps that is because we grew up drinking wassail at Christmas! This song reminds me of the Boar's Head Festival (where they always sang this song) and my Mom's delicious homemade wassail. Almost every year for our Epiphany Open … Read More...

Ah, cinnamon rolls. Is there anything better than a fresh cinnamon roll, dripping with frosting, hot from the oven for breakfast? The thing about cinnamon rolls is that they take time to make. I love them but I rarely make them (much less first thing in the morning) because of the time element. I knew if I could figure out the trick to freezing cinnamon rolls, so I could still have them fresh in the morning, it would make me quite happy. Freezer cooking lover that I am, I decided to do some research on this precise topic. I happily discovered it is much easier than you might think to freeze … Read More...

Frosted Pumpkin Cookies

By Kristen 5 Comments

It's fall and time to break out the pumpkin recipes. I do love the flavor of all things pumpkin. Pumpkin chocolate chip bread is one of my favorite breakfasts, and these frosted pumpkin cookies are one of my favorite pumpkin desserts. What is your favorite pumpkin recipe? I gleaned this recipe from a dear school family of mine. I taught Annalee first and then her brother, Aaron. Aaron is quite the chef. Even when I was teaching him in 3rd grade, Aaron liked to surprise me with perfectly frosted cupcakes or delicious cookies that he made himself. One day, I was at their home giving … Read More...
