It's been an eventful two weeks - in so many ways! With the appearance of the Corona virus, my teacher husband and son are now home from school for the next month and we are adjusting to our temporary new normal. At home. As a family of 6. Yes, you read that right. As of today, I officially have a 2 week old. In unexpectedly surprising news, our son decided to make his appearance a month earlier than expected! Cheapest Diapers | Where to Buy the Cheapest Diapers

Published March 09, 2020 Updated May 09, 2020 2 Comments

We just had another baby! This is the 4th March baby we've had in the past 6 years. No, we didn't plan it that way but that seems to be what happened! Nathan was born in March 2014, followed by Emma in March 2016, followed by Lily in March 2018 and now Caleb in March 2020. Before Caleb arrived, I went into full nesting mode and stocked up on all the things we would need for the first couple of weeks. Little did I know how extra important it would be this time around since Caleb was born just days before everything started shutting down. I was so thankful I was already stocked up on diapers … Read More...

If there is one thing I have learned over the past 6 years and 4 babies, it is the importance of planning ahead for a new baby. When a new baby enters your family, it is a wonderful time like no other, but all your routines and schedules are thrown out the window as you adjust to your new life. It doesn't matter if it is your first baby or your fourth, everything is upside down for awhile as you adjust to life with a new baby. The best thing you can do? Plan ahead and prepare for life to be a little sleep deprived and wonderfully chaotic for awhile. I am a planner by nature and … Read More...

Best Lego Sets Under $20

Published November 18, 2019 Updated September 23, 2020 Leave a Comment

Our household is a Lego household. My husband has long been an avid Lego builder and collector and he has instilled that love of Legos in our children. I know Legos can be expensive but we have learned some ways to stretch our money and get the best value on the Lego sets we do buy. I have even discovered there are many Lego sets under $20 - which make wonderful gifts or additions to a Lego collection. Legos are an investment but as frugal as I am, this is one instance where I would not recommend buying a cheaper version. Legos are a high quality toy and they are built to last. The basic … Read More...

My Favorite Things Printable for Teachers

Published July 29, 2019 Updated January 17, 2021 2 Comments

15 years ago this August, I began my teaching career. I will always remember my first class of Kindergarteners at St. Mark's Lutheran School in Milford, Ohio. It was a small class, but they were so precious! The children and their parents made me feel so welcome. It wasn't usually the big gestures but it was the small ones I remember most. I remember a mom taking the time to ask me what kind of soda I liked and bringing me a drink at the beginning of my afternoon session. I remember homemade goodies appearing on my desk more than once. And I still have the handwritten notes of appreciation … Read More...
