When Your To Do List is Never Done

Published February 18, 2019 Updated August 17, 2019 16 Comments

Love this! I feel this way SO many times. It's nice to have hope when your to do list is never done. #momlife

This is a topic that I keep coming back to day after busy day so I expanded upon an old post with some new thoughts. It's a constant challenge of mine, as a working from home wife and mom. I hope you find some encouragement in these honest musings of mine and realize that you are not alone. Because there is hope when your to do list is never done. The day started out well enough. I was full of good intentions and motivation. I woke up an hour before the kids (as has become my best new habit) and wrote a custom book on the couch, cozy under warm blankets. All the kids actually slept past … Read More...

A Peek Into Our Christmas, and My Goals for 2019

Published January 07, 2019 3 Comments

Today, Andy heads back to school and so does Nathan. Nathan (the preschool student) is definitely more excited than his teacher Dad, but off they both go. It has been an absolutely marvelous Christmas break for all of us! As a former teacher myself who is married to a teacher, these family breaks together are one of the best perks of the job. Since we are in the midst of a busy basketball season and gearing up for tournament time, we have a lot of long days ahead when we won't get to see Andy much. It's just part of the teaching job and he does love coaching! It is one of the reasons we … Read More...

So many times, Moms forget to dream big dreams for themselves. Here are steps to setting big goals just for Moms. #goalsetting #momgoals

I love the fresh start of new years. I told my husband that the week after Christmas is one of my favorite weeks of the year. I love the coziness of it all. I love the family time we have at home while the Christmas decorations are still up. I love reflecting on the previous year and dreaming about the possibilities of the new year. I love setting my mom goals for the new year. Here is something I have noticed. Many moms are nervous about setting big goals for themselves. Why is that? I think we get so wrapped up in our family that we often forget to focus on ourselves. It's easier to dream … Read More...

A Fall Family Update

Published October 08, 2018 1 Comment

I held a sleeping Lily as I started typing this post because I realized these days are slipping away too quickly. I look at Nathan and realize that your own children do grow up so quickly. Here is a look at our growing family this Fall. Lily turns 7 months this week and is still as happy as can be. I thought our other babies were happy until she came along! Lily has an instant smile ready for anyone who makes eye contact with her. She still does prefer being held by Mom but also loves playing in her exosaucer which is a huge help when I need to cook dinner. Her first 2 teeth finally … Read More...

When You Can’t See Your Calling Because of the Laundry Pile

Published May 29, 2018 Updated August 17, 2019 3 Comments

Let's do real life together, shall we? I love being a wife and mom. It was always my heart's desire. Now that I'm several years in (9 years married and 4 years with kids), the reality can be overwhelming. Because, let's be honest? Being a mom is hard. Being a wife is hard. Sometimes you spend the day tackling four loads of laundry...only to do more loads of laundry the next day when accidents happen overnight and the baby has another blow out. (This is the Instagram moment that started these musings.) This laundry? And all the other baskets waiting to get done? This laundry is … Read More...
