My name is Kristen and I’m so glad you are here! Here’s a bit of my story in words…with more pictures below.
Who am I? I’m a wife and a stay-at-home Mom who seeks to live a grace-filled frugal life. I’m a trained early childhood teacher, an avid reader, a baker and a bargain seeker. Most importantly, I’m a baptized child of God. Why is all this important? This is who I am and why I write to share with you.
I am the eldest of four children, born to a Lutheran pastor and his teacher wife. While my family is spread across the United States now (3 siblings in 3 different states, plus 3 siblings-in-law in another 2 states), we are a close-knit family. I have wonderful memories of sitting around the kitchen table with my family, laughing and sharing stories. I am who I am, by God’s grace, because of my family.
I met my husband while in college – although we didn’t get married until 9 years later. I am thankful every day for the blessing Andy is in my life. We were married in July of 2009. After years of waiting and praying for a baby, our son was born in March 2014. Our daughter was another blessing born in March 2016. My husband is a Lutheran school teacher, as I was before I began staying at home with our son.
Growing up in a church work family, I learned quickly the value of frugality. We didn’t have a lot of money but we never were lacking. We learned firsthand how God will always provide for His children. Besides, as my Grandpa likes to say, we are rich already – someday we’ll have money. Now that I’m a SAHM, I am learning daily to love our frugal life!
