My name is Kristen and I’m so glad you are here! Here’s a bit of my story, as we get acquainted.
Who am I? I’m a wife and a stay-at-home Mom who seeks to live a grace-filled frugal life.
I’m a trained early childhood teacher, a LCMS church worker wife, an avid reader, a baker and a bargain seeker. Most importantly, I’m a baptized child of God.
Why is all this important? This is who I am and why I write to share with you.
I am the eldest of four children, born to a Lutheran pastor and his teacher wife. While my family is spread across the United States now, we are a close-knit family. I have wonderful memories of sitting around the kitchen table with my family, laughing and sharing stories. I am who I am, by God’s grace, because of my family.
I met my husband while in college at Concordia Seward – although we didn’t get married until 9 years later. I am thankful every day for the blessing Andy is in my life. We were married in July of 2009. After years of waiting and praying for a baby, our son was born in March 2014. Our daughter was another blessing born in March 2016, followed by another daughter in March 2018. My husband is a Lutheran school teacher, as I was before I began staying at home with our children.
Being a Mom is not easy but I am so thankful for the opportunity to stay at home with my children. It really is true that the days are long but the years are short. As busy as our days are right now, I am striving to cherish these moments of raising little ones.
Growing up in a church work family, I learned quickly the value of frugality. We didn’t have a lot of money but we never were lacking. We learned firsthand how God will always provide for His children. Besides, as my Grandpa likes to say, we are rich already – someday we’ll have money. Now that I’m a SAHM, I am learning daily to love our frugal life!
