Nathan and I had a great day together on Thursday! I had to teach two summer piano lessons at school, so since Andy was at basketball camp, Nathan came with me. I timed the lessons right, as he slept through both of them – and played on a nap mat in my classroom while I worked in between. Since Nathan was still napping at the end of the second lesson, I knew I had a bit of time left before he ate again. Off to Meijer we went! Here’s what I bought this week.
I was happy to see the large cans of Naturals tomatoes on sale for $1. I restocked my pantry with 6 cans. The Coke (for summer gatherings), sour cream and cucumber rounded out my purchases. They were all $1 items, but since the 11th was free, all these items were really $0.90 each. This was all I planned to pick up, but then I noticed 80% ground chuck was on an un-advertised sale for $2.49/lb. I bought 5 pounds and repackaged it in foil as soon as I got home. The mini sweet peppers were on the close-out shelf for $1.37. I could have bought 1 red bell pepper for $1 but instead I got this whole bag for pennies more! This is why I always check the close-out produce shelf at Meijer.
At Meijer, I spent $23.76 this week. This trip brings my shopping total for June to $140.82. This leaves me with $39 to spend for the remainder of the month. Since we’re almost to the end of June, this is quite doable for me. How’s your budget this month?
