How to Read Kindle Books without a Kindle

I read a lot. Everyone who knows me knows that. Back when Kindles were new, my brother surprised me with a Kindle for Christmas. I have made good use of it and love the convenience of reading wherever I am. No longer do I have to take stacks of books along on my vacation. I can pack my Kindle and I am ready to go! I still read print books, but I read quite a bit on my Kindle, too. I love that I have hundreds of books at my fingertips anytime I am ready to read.

When I upgraded to my smart phone, I rediscovered my love of the Kindle with the Kindle reading app. Since my phone is always with me, I don’t have to carry my Kindle with me. I now can read whenever I have a spare moment – and I do!

The best thing about the Kindle app is that you don’t have to have a Kindle to use it! The Kindle app is completely free to download to your computer, phone or any electronic device. It is the best way to read Kindle books without a Kindle.

  1. I’m the same way, I love to read but don’t have a Kindle. I’ve thought about doing the app thing on my tablet or phone, but haven’t, only because I know that while it works, it would drain the battery a lot faster than normal since your screen is on for so long. That’s one thing about the eReaders is that they have technology for their screens that give you a lot more reading time before having to recharge the device.

    1. Good point! I still read more in actual books than on devices, but it has handy to have the Kindle app when I’m stuck waiting with nothing better to do. 🙂
