Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies

I like Mom’s chocolate chip cookies, and I like Mrs. Horn’s chocolate chip cookies. But, my favorite chocolate chip cookie? It is this one – my Aunt Jo’s recipe.

Why do I like it? That’s easy. It’s a simple recipe, that tastes perfectly moist with the ideal ratio of chocolate chips.

I’m not the only one who likes it. My brother agrees that this recipe is his go-to cookie recipe, too!

It might sound odd to make chocolate chip cookies with a cake mix but the taste is anything but odd. It’s delicious! If you are looking for a simple variation on a classic – make this one. You’ll be glad you did!

Ingredients:

1 package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

Soften margarine in a glass bowl. Stir in cake mix, eggs and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Add in chocolate chips and nuts (if desired).

Drop dough by  teaspoon (or cookie scoop) on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cookies will be soft. Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies, if using a Pampered Chef medium cookie scoop.

  1. Are there only 3 cookies on the plate because you took the rest to teacher’s conference? ;) That tells you how good they are. It works great with a chocolate cake mix, too, mixed with PB chips!

    • Actually, the rest ended up at Grandparents Day, and I took the Chocolate Peanut Butter cookies along to Teacher’s Conference. Lol. You know me well, sis.
