It’s hard to believe it’s the middle of the month already. I debated not shopping, but I needed to pick up snacks for our preschoolers for the week. Since I was at Meijer, I went ahead and picked up a couple groceries. Here’s what I bought.
The yogurt was free, and I combined store promotions with coupons to get 3 of my 6 boxes of canning lids for free, too. Basically, that means I spent $0.81 per box of lids. I’m set for awhile now!
I wasn’t planning on buying more chocolate chips, but they were on sale, I had a coupon and their was a catalina. So, I bought two more bags of Nestle.
Brown sugar was on sale for $0.99 a box / pound, so that was a good baking find.
At Meijer, thanks to my catalina (cash) from last week, I spent $11.62 and received a $1 catalina for next time.
I was baking gingerbread men (again, for preschool) and ran out of flour so stopped by our bulk food store for more flour.
I realize that’s a big bag of flour. Yes, I bought 15 pounds of flour at once – to the amazement of the gentleman in line behind me. At $0.35 a pound, it was a price that is hard to find elsewhere.
It turns out brown sugar is only $0.73/pound so I bought a bit more, along regular sugar for my baking. Molasses and ginger rounded out my trip there.
I spent $15.53 on baking supplies.
This week, my total was only $27.15. I feel good about that, especially after my high shopping trip last week.
This brings my September total, so far, to $113.02. That leaves me with $46.98 to spend this month. I’ll have to average about the same amounts for the next two weeks if I’m to stay on budget this month. Hmm. Possible? I hope so.
