Over the Edge by Mary Connealy

I spent yesterday morning, on my Labor Day, reading. It was lovely, especially since I had a new book to read. Over the Edge by Mary Connealy was the book I spent my morning reading.

Over the Edge is the third book in the Kincaid Brides series. Since I’d read and enjoyed the other two books, I was curious to see what happened next to the Kincaid brothers…and their wives.

Over the Edge is the story of the third brother, Seth, who is recovering from mental break after fighting in the Civil War. He received a letter saying that he had a wife – Callie – whom he doesn’t remember. Suddenly, Callie appears – with his baby son, Connor.

Seth struggles with remembering this vivacious, stubborn and opinionated girl from Texas, whom he is married to.  Callie struggles with letting Seth back in – after he disappeared from her life already once before.

There are outlaws to fight, caves to explore, a ranch to run, brothers and their wives to meet, oh, and a new brother who suddenly appears. All the while, Callie and Seth slowly become reacquainted and fall back in love.

I was glad to continue the saga, but I will admit that it wasn’t my favorite in the series. There were moments when the story felt a little too, well, fictional. I’d recommend the first book in the series, Out of Control, instead.

All in all, anytime I have an opportunity to spend the morning reading. It is a good day!

Please note that I did receive a free copy of this book from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
