I shopped once last week, and it took me slightly over my monthly budget. I had to pick up snacks for my preschoolers so picked up three sale items for myself. Here’s what pushed me over my budget.
The Coke was for my husband and the new Glade oil diffusers were finally in stock. They were marked down to $5.99, and I had two $5/1 coupons. Plus, I got two $1 off any purchase catalinas. This basically made my diffusers free!
I spent $7.73, and received $2 in catalinas to use next time. This brings my total for August to $167.74. I managed to eat from the pantry the rest of the week. I’m going to continue doing so over the next week, even as I resume grocery shopping.
For September, my goal is to cook a lot from the pantry and supplement with perishables and the really good deals. There’s a good Kraft catalina going on right now, so that’s what I’ll be stocking up on this week to restock my freezer.
