Short Stumbles While I’m Recovering from a Cold

I arrived home from a wonderful time away…and promptly caught a cold. My sore throat is finally gone, but now I’m just left with the cold congestion. I hope I’m on the end part of this cold! I’ve been drinking hot chai tea by the gallon, it seems, and that’s been a big help. Thanks again, Bethany, for introducing me to chai!

I love the chai from our Grabill Country Sales but I’m curious about making it on my own. If I can find a similar recipe, it would probably be more cost efficient, too. Here’s a recipe from Mom Advice for Vanilla Chai tea that sounds simple and easy. The question is…will it taste as good as the mix that I’ve become accustomed to drinking?

I think I want to make some soup for lunch. I have almost on the ingredients on hand so I might try a variation of Pioneer Woman’s Corn and Cheese Chowder. Doesn’t this look delicious?

I’m planning on making this Baked Potato Soup in my slow cooker soon, too. This recipe from Mama Loves Food looks simple and delicious.

I took it was short and sweet as I’m sharing recipes and keeping my cold to myself! :-) Now, I’m off to heat up more chai, start my soup and count Boxtops.

I’m linking to Saturday Stumbles at Simply Staci.

  1. Oh Kristen…sorry to hear you’ve been sick! Hope the weekend will be a good time to recoop. And thank you for that soup recipe! What I love about it is that it’s a 10 hour recipe…cause that’s how long I’m at school :) Can’t wait to try it!

    • Thanks, Staci! I have great teacher immunity, but this is my once-every-five-years cold…and it’s a doozy! :-) I love the slow cooker recipe for the same reason. So many recipes seem to be 8 hours, but that is just too short for us teachers. I wonder which one of us will make it first?
