My sister turned 28 yesterday. I didn’t get a chance to talk with her as she is traveling, but I will get to see her in a couple weeks. That makes me smile. My sister makes me smile! I realize today’s list might not make sense to all of you, but that’s okay by me. I am giving thanks for my sister and so I write.
I am thankful for…
…the lasting friendship of sisters.
…one-line emails, quick Skype sessions, and morning Gmail chats.
…dancing to records.
…singing to musicals.
…playing pioneer in the back yard.
…generosity.
…understanding and compassion.
…witty come backs that always make me laugh.
…road trips, even when they involve shaky cars.
…soprano and alto duets. How many times did we sing “LYF Cycle Song?” together. Or, “Were You There on That Christmas Night?”
…Seward years together.
…diagrams and plans to rearrange our room.
…talking from our bunk beds late at night.
…always having someone with whom to play and talk.
…my sister, Liesl.
This list numbers items 946 to 960 on my Journey to One Thousand Gifts.
